26-1080 Light, Power & Traffic Campus Asphalt Paving

Background
The City of Sioux Falls is seeking formal bids for the Light, Power & Traffic Campus Asphalt Paving project, which is estimated to cost $890,000. This project will be funded through CIP No. 20005. The purpose of this contract is to enhance the infrastructure of the Light, Power & Traffic Department in Sioux Falls.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing asphalt paving services at the Light, Power & Traffic Campus. This includes site preparation, excavation, and installation of asphalt pavement. Specific tasks include:
1. Removal of existing topsoil and vegetation within the project area.
2. Installation of a minimum thickness of 4 inches for light-duty asphalt pavement and 6 inches for heavy-duty areas, with appropriate aggregate base courses as specified in the project documents.
3. Compliance with local standards for drainage and erosion control during construction.
4. Coordination with City officials regarding any necessary adjustments or inspections throughout the project.

The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that aligns with the project's funding schedule and construction requirements.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Highway Contractor’s License and provide proof of insurance as specified in the contract documents. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a certified check or bank draft as part of their bid proposal.
