26-0049 Submersible Sludge Pump Unit

Background
The City of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is issuing this bid request for the procurement of a Submersible Sludge Pump Unit to replace an existing unit at the Sioux Falls Water Purification Plant.
The current sludge pump system dates back to 1972 and consists of three similar units.
This contract aims to secure a new and unused pumping unit that meets specified requirements for functionality and reliability.

Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of one (1) Submersible Sludge Pump Unit, which must include a pump, reduction gear, AC motor, belts, base plate, and other necessary accessories for complete operation.
The pumping unit should be capable of handling a liquid with a solids content ranging from 3% to 30%, with an average of 10%.
It must draw sludge through an 8" suction line and discharge through a 6" line with a check valve.
The pump should be designed for continuous operation without overheating or excessive vibration.
Acceptable types include rotary lobe or progressing cavity pumps.
Bidders may propose equivalent products but must provide documentation proving equivalency.
The successful bidder will also need to supply all necessary fittings for connection to existing plant piping.

The contract is for a one-time purchase with delivery expected upon completion of the bid process.

Bidder Requirements
