USC Upstate -Replace Domestic Water Boilers at Plm

Background
The University of South Carolina Upstate (USC Upstate) is seeking to replace the domestic water boilers at the Palmetto House. This project aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the hot water supply system within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for removing and replacing the existing domestic water boilers serving the Palmetto House. Specific tasks include:
1. Demolition of existing water heaters, pressure relief piping, and associated valves.
2. Installation of two PVI MAXIM #72L250A-MXG-13A natural gas water heaters, each with a capacity of 720 KBTU input and 1,015 GPH recovery rate at temperatures ranging from 70°F to 140°F.
3. Installation of a Lawler #804 prepiped hi-low tempered water mixing system with a recirculation pump set at a 110°F setpoint, including necessary valves and controls.
4. Installation of new piping connections for cold water, hot water, and natural gas systems, including type B vent gas venting to connect to existing systems.
5. Installation of new pressure relief valves sized per manufacturer specifications and type L copper drain lines with shutoff valves connected to existing floor drains.
6. Compliance with South Carolina Boiler Safety Act and National Electric Code (NEC) for all installations.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and is projected to be completed within a specified timeframe as detailed in the project schedule.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at USC Upstate's Palmetto House located at 470 Hodge Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
