Thomas Cooper Library Envelope Repairs

Background
The University of South Carolina is issuing a contract for envelope repairs at the Thomas Cooper Library, located at 1322 Greene Street, Columbia, SC 29208. The project aims to address critical maintenance issues to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of the library's exterior. This work is part of a broader initiative to maintain university facilities and enhance their functionality for students and staff.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Installation of through wall flashing at the West Facing Elevation.
2. Below grade waterproofing to prevent moisture intrusion.
3. Application of interior polyurethane chemical grout at the interior opening above the ceiling where conduits enter below grade, as detailed in the project drawings.
4. Repairs to deck drains on the South Facing Elevation as indicated in the drawings.

The approximate area for through wall flashing is 29 linear feet, which includes cleaning existing through wall weeps and debris removal.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and is projected to be completed within a specified timeframe that aligns with the university's operational schedule.

All work will be performed at the Thomas Cooper Library, located at 1322 Greene Street, Columbia, SC 29208.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide performance and labor & material payment bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a bid security amounting to no less than 5% of the base bid. Bidders must also comply with all local regulations regarding minority subcontractor certification as outlined by the Governor's Office of Small and Minority Business Assistance.
