Recycling Operations Evaluation & Sale of Recyclables Service, As Required

Background
Georgetown County, South Carolina, is seeking proposals for the Recycling Operations Evaluation & Sale of Recyclables Service. The goal is to maximize the recovery of recyclable materials from residents and businesses while ensuring cost-effective handling and disposal. The County's Public Services Department, Division of Environmental Services, is responsible for this initiative.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for collecting recyclables at the Georgetown County Material Recycling Facility (MRF). The scope includes:

1) Collecting various recyclable commodities such as newspapers, cardboard/paperboard, mixed paper, glass, and commingled cans and bottles. Additional materials may be added upon mutual agreement.

2) Hauling a minimum of two to three trailers of recyclables per week using trailers provided by the contractor.

3) Weighing in and out on the County’s landfill scales and providing signed weight tickets with payments.

4) Legally removing and disposing of contaminants and residue.

5) Providing annual training to County employees on best practices for sorting materials.

6) Reviewing the County's collection methods and suggesting improvements to increase recycling rates.

7) Conducting compliance assessments with environmental laws if requested by the County.

8) Submitting monthly revenue reports to Georgetown County by the 25th day of each month.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term is for one calendar year from the effective date, with options to renew for up to four additional consecutive terms based on satisfactory performance.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Georgetown County Material Recycling Facility located in Georgetown, South Carolina.
