REBID USC Aiken Pickens Salley Envelope Repairs

Background
The University of South Carolina is issuing a solicitation for the REBID USC Aiken Pickens Salley Envelope Repairs project. This project aims to address structural and aesthetic issues in the building envelope of the facility located at 319 Scholar Loop, Aiken, SC. The renovations are intended to ensure the building's integrity and appearance, aligning with the university's commitment to maintaining its facilities.

Work Details
The base bid work includes:
- Complete removal of all siding and trim (to be reused)
- Minor structural repairs/modifications to sheathing/substrate
- Installation of a new air/moisture underlayment system
- Reinstallation of siding with new trim/accessories
- Preparation, priming, and application of two coats of paint for all exterior wood surfaces.

Additionally, the work involves removing and replacing wood window glazing putty (exterior). Alternate number 1 includes replacing the front porch deck boards with tongue and groove boards to match existing for approximately 350 square feet.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence upon award and is projected to be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the bidding documents.

The work will be performed at 319 Scholar Loop, Aiken, SC 29801.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders are encouraged to participate as small and minority businesses. A bid security is required in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. The successful contractor will be required to provide performance and labor & material payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price.
