Paradise Island Boat Landing Improvements

Background
The Paradise Island Boat Landing Improvements project is initiated by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) located at the terminus of Chandler Road, Awendaw, SC 29429. The goal of this project is to enhance the boat landing facilities to better serve the public and improve accessibility for recreational activities. The project involves significant construction work including the removal of an existing concrete ramp and installation of new facilities.

Work Details
The project consists of:

1. Removal of the existing approximately 23’ x 53’ concrete ramp.
2. Installation of a new 28’ x 72’ two-lane concrete boat ramp.
3. Construction of an L-shaped floating dock measuring 8 feet wide by 100 feet long, which includes six concrete pile guides and a groundout cage with an attachment for a transition plate at the shore end for future use.
4. Installation of an 11’ x 72’ ground out dock pad and a concrete abutment with bollard.
5. Grading of the parking lot and adding material for low spots as needed.
6. All demolition materials must be removed and disposed of appropriately by the contractor.
7. The contractor is responsible for repairs to any CCPRC facilities damaged during construction.
8. Compliance with all applicable codes including the Americans with Disabilities Act, International Building Codes, and local regulations is required.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is expected to commence within ten calendar days from the 'Notice to Proceed' and must achieve substantial completion by May 15, 2025, with final completion by May 31, 2025.

The work will be performed at Paradise Island Boat Landing located at the terminus of Chandler Road, Awendaw, South Carolina 29429.
