Background
Richland School District Two is seeking to competitively obtain bids for the installation of school zone solar beacons and accessories. The goal of this project is to enhance safety in school zones by replacing existing solar blinker beacons with new systems. The project will take place at Lake Carolina Elementary School, located at 1151 Kelly Mill Rd, Blythewood, SC 29016.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Removal and Disposal:
- Remove existing solar blinker beacon units and associated components.
- Remove existing poles and properly discard them according to applicable regulations.
- Perform all removal activities without damage to the surrounding infrastructure.
2. Furnishing of Equipment (provided by the District):
- Two (2) School Zone Solar, 65w, BlinkerBeacon DV-SS Amber, 12" YH, BlinkLink.
- Two (2) Controllers, 12V, 108045, Hollow, Out1/Out2, CloudGate Modem.
- Two (2) Universal Cabinet Mounting Brackets.
- Two (2) 65W/12V Solar Panel Packages.
- Two (2) Batteries, Universal battery, Solar 12V 50Ah AGM UB12500.
- Four (4) BlinkerBeacon assemblies with Amber LED lights.
- Two (2) Essential Software Annual Subscriptions for Intelligent Warning Solutions.
- Two (2) Aluminum Signs indicating School Speed Limit of 15 MPH When Flashing.
- Two (2) Standard Aluminum Poles and Bases for installation.
3. Installation:
- Install new School Zone Solar BlinkerBeacons at designated locations ensuring secure mounting and proper alignment for operation.
4. Testing and Acceptance:
- Test all installed equipment to verify full functionality and correct any deficiencies prior to final acceptance by the District.
5. Site Restoration:
- Restore all disturbed areas to their original condition upon completion of work.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe as determined during the bidding process.
