FY22 USC Lancaster MR&R - Roof Replacements Greg

Background
The University of South Carolina is issuing a solicitation for the FY22 USC Lancaster MR&R Roof Replacements at the Gregory YMCA. The project aims to replace existing roofs and sheet metal accessories with new modified bitumen roofing systems. This initiative is part of the university's ongoing maintenance and repair efforts to ensure the integrity and functionality of its facilities.

Work Details
The work includes the replacement of existing roofs and sheet metal accessories with a new modified bitumen roof system. Specific tasks include:

1. Inspecting and repairing the substrate prior to installation.
2. Providing all new wood products as required for indicated details.
3. Removing and disposing of existing base flashings, metal counterflashings, expansion joint covers, metal coping caps, and skylights as necessary.
4. Installing tapered crickets for positive drainage on upslope sides of all non-round penetrations greater than 24 inches wide.
5. Installing a 2-ply modified bitumen roof system in cold process adhesive, heat welding all seams.
6. Installing new metal coping caps with ice and water shield underlayment.
7. Thoroughly cleaning the roof upon completion.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period that begins upon award and extends until project completion, with specific timelines outlined in the contract documents.

The work will be performed at the Gregory YMCA located at 512 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide bid security in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid and are required to submit performance and labor & material payment bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price. Small and minority participation is strongly encouraged.
