City Of Aiken, S.C. Greenhouse

Background
The City of Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking proposals for the construction of a greenhouse. This initiative aligns with the city's mission to enhance community facilities and promote local agriculture. The goal of this contract is to provide a fully functional greenhouse that meets specified design and operational standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the installation of a greenhouse frame measuring 24 ft in width and 48 ft in length, with an eave height of 8 ft. The frame will consist of galvanized steel tubes and must meet ASTM-A-500 specifications.

The greenhouse will include:
- Roof: 1 clear 8mm polycarbonate structured sheet joined with aluminum Glazing H and anti-drip adhesive spacers.
- Endwalls: 2 clear 8mm polycarbonate structured sheets joined with aluminum H channel.
- Doors: 2 polycarbonate double doors (4' x 8').
- Ventilation Package: Includes manual sidewall roll-up curtains and a manual “alpine” roof vent.

The vendor must also install all interior equipment, dispose of construction debris, and ensure compliance with all local regulations. The City will provide necessary site preparation, utilities, and permits.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by May 6, 2026.

The greenhouse will be constructed at a designated site within the City of Aiken, South Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with the South Carolina Drug Free Workplace Act and certify their compliance in their proposal.
