CIP-2458 - Highway 17 Corridor Water & Sewer Study

Background
The Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (BJWSA) is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide services for the Highway 17 Corridor Water & Sewer Study. This initiative aims to evaluate existing conditions and future growth in the Highway 17 Corridor, particularly in the City of Hardeeville, which is experiencing rapid growth and increased demand for water and sewer services.

BJWSA is in the early development phase of a new wastewater treatment plant and is expanding existing facilities to meet these demands.

Work Details
The selected engineering firm will be responsible for:

1. Project Administration: Managing professional services, monitoring project progress and budget, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining communication with BJWSA.

2. Highway 17 Corridor Water & Sewer Study: Reviewing historical operational data, developing a hydraulic sewer model, evaluating existing conditions, proposing alternatives for optimizing water and wastewater facilities, conducting feasibility studies, providing cost estimations, and preparing a final report signed by a licensed Civil Engineer in South Carolina.

Period of Performance
All work must be completed within ten (10) months from the Notice of Award.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in the Highway 17 Corridor area, specifically including the City of Hardeeville.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must complete BJWSA’s Good Faith Effort packet for Small, Minority and Women-Owned Business Participation. If self-performing 100% of the work/services, a Self-performance Affidavit must be submitted with the proposal.

Proposals must include qualifications, project understanding, approach, schedule availability, and proposed fees. Contractors must also comply with insurance requirements as specified.
