Security Guard Services - Library (Rebid)

Background
The City of Pawtucket is seeking a contractor to provide security guard services at the Pawtucket Public Library located at 13 Summer Street, Pawtucket, RI. The contract is intended to enhance safety and security within the library environment, ensuring a safe space for library users and staff.

The contract will be set for two years with an option for one additional year at the City's discretion.

Work Details
The contractor will provide one licensed security guard to work according to a schedule determined by the City. Services are not required on City holidays. The standard schedule includes:
- Monday to Thursday from 5 PM to 9 PM
- Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM
- Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM (only when the library is open).

Responsibilities include patrolling the library, warning users about policy violations, enforcing behavioral policies, protecting property from theft and vandalism, checking nonpublic areas for security, and maintaining a daily report/patrol log.

The security guard must have at least six months of experience, pass a BCI background check, be in good health, and be able to interact tactfully with library users and staff. The contractor must also provide appropriate training covering legal aspects of civil liability, verbal de-escalation techniques, security policies, report writing methods, and first aid certification.

Period of Performance
The contract will last for two years with an option for one additional year at the City's discretion.
