RIC Construction of Cyber Security Range at Alger Hall

Background
Rhode Island College is seeking a vendor to complete the renovation of existing computer labs 101 and 102 in Alger Hall. The mission of this project is to transform Lab 101 into a standard multipurpose computer lab and Lab 102 into a Cyber Range equipped with advanced technology. This initiative aligns with the college's goal to enhance its educational facilities and provide state-of-the-art resources for students and faculty.

Work Details
The contract includes interior demolition and construction services, specifically:
- Demolition of electrical and mechanical systems, ceiling, and partition walls in Labs 101 and 102.
- Renovation of Computer Lab 101 into a multipurpose lab.
- Renovation of Computer Lab 102 into a Cyber Range with advanced equipment and lighting.
- Installation of a new HVAC system servicing both labs.
- Installation of new electrical systems, audio-visual (AV) systems, networking infrastructure, and additional wiring.
- Installation of new ceilings, partition walls, and an AV closet.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will commence in December 2024 for one year, with potential renewal for an additional year based on performance and funding availability. Construction is expected to start immediately upon receipt of the purchase order, with substantial completion targeted for Spring 2025 and final completion within 15 days thereafter.

The work will be performed at Rhode Island College, specifically in Alger Hall located at 600 Mt Pleasant Ave, Providence, RI.
