Moving Services

Background
The University of Rhode Island, through its Division of Administration and Finance Purchasing Department, is seeking a qualified moving company to provide moving services for various campuses. The contract aims to facilitate the efficient relocation and disposal of equipment and furniture, ensuring that the university's operational needs are met effectively.

The selected contractor will be responsible for managing moves across multiple locations, including the Kingston Campus and other facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide moving services that include:
1. Moving crew rates per hour for different fiscal years (2025-2028) with specified quantities.
2. Overtime rates for moving crews and additional staff as required.
3. Charges based on time and equipment usage, including a 24ft box truck with a hydraulic lift gate capable of handling 5,000 lbs.
4. Responsibilities include small moves (rearranging departments), large equipment/material deliveries, special events logistics, confidential shredding services, emergency responses to incidents like flooding or roof leaks, and specialty moving services for delicate items.
5. The vendor must maintain adequate staffing levels, including foremen and crew members with appropriate licenses (CDL) and experience in handling heavy or delicate items.
6. All work must comply with safety regulations and confidentiality requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on January 1, 2025, and continue until June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will primarily be performed at the University of Rhode Island's Kingston Campus but may also extend to the Feinstein Providence Campus, Nursing Education Center Providence Campus, Narragansett Bay Campus, W. Alton Jones Campus, East Farm, and Peckham Farm as needed.
