Library Book Security System and Installation

Background
The University of Rhode Island, through its Division of Administration and Finance Purchasing Department, is seeking bids for a Library Book Security System and Installation.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the security of library materials through advanced detection technology.

Work Details
The contract includes the provision and installation of two library entrance security/detection gates with Tattle Tape technology.
Specifications include:
- Dimensions: Maximum width at base 2.5 inches, height 70.3 inches, depth 23.5 inches; weight not exceeding 90 pounds per gate.
- Material: High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS).
- Power Supply: 100/120, 220/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
- Data Connectivity: Ethernet (TCP/IP).
- Performance: Optimized for Tattle-Tape markers with coverage within 39.4 inches/1,000mm separation.
- Alarm Features: LED lights, variable alarm patterns, adjustable volume, integrated digital display for monitoring traffic and diagnostics.
- Compliance Standards: CE, RCM, ETSI, FCC, IC, ADA, DDA, ETL and CSA.
- Configuration: Supports up to six panels for total coverage of 6.0m.
- Installation includes wire way and baseplate; on-board tuning allows placement near metal objects.
- Software must be compatible with Library Management Systems (e.g., ALMA) and include reporting options.
- Security measures to ensure no third-party access to stored data.
- Additional features include a bi-directional people counter and capability to trigger external devices like CCTV and alarms.
- Warranty: One year included; maintenance agreement for three years; training on system operation also included.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence upon award and installation completion by February 13, 2025.

Place of Performance
The installation will take place at the University of Rhode Island located in Kingston, RI.
