Background
The Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation (RIHousing) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to supply historically appropriate replacement windows for the LeadSafe Homes Program. This initiative aims to ensure that homes considered historic by the State Historic Preservation Office or local Historic Commissions are equipped with suitable window replacements that meet specific historical and safety standards.

Work Details
The selected vendor will provide custom-sized, double hung or casement replacement windows that are double glazed and include features such as tilt-in upper and lower sashes, child safety latches, double sash latches, and locking half screens. The windows must be made from aluminum clad or vinyl clad materials, with specific fabrication requirements including:

- Minimum jamb wall thickness of .065” and sill wall thickness of .075”.
- Sash profiles with a wall thickness of .65”.
- Frame depth typically at 3-1/4”, with butt jointed and welded corners.
- Sash assembly requiring miter cut and welded rails with spring loaded sash latches.
- Double glazing specifications including an overall thickness of 7/8” with a void between single strength glass.
- Weather stripping requirements to ensure energy efficiency.
- Hardware specifications including spring activated tilt latches and various types of sash balances.

The vendor will also be responsible for measuring windows during a scheduled walkthrough, delivering products within two weeks from the date of order, and ensuring all products meet energy performance criteria as specified by RIHousing.

The contract period will commence upon the award of the contract and will continue until all products are delivered and accepted by RIHousing, typically expected within two weeks from order placement.
