Governor Stephen Hopkins House Envelope Renovation

Background
The Department of Administration, Division of Capitol Asset Management and Maintenance is seeking qualified vendors to complete the exterior restoration of the Governor Stephen Hopkins House. This project aims to preserve and restore the historical integrity of the house in accordance with specified plans, specifications, and requirements outlined in this solicitation.

Work Details
The contract involves the exterior restoration of the Governor Stephen Hopkins House, which includes:

1. Wood Repairs with an allowance of $10,000.
2. Masonry Repairs with an allowance of $2,500.
3. Chimney Repairs with an allowance of $5,000.
4. Installation of Exterior Security Light Fixtures with an allowance of $5,000.

Additionally, there is an Add Alternate for the restoration of wood fencing, gates, and stone retaining walls which also includes allowances for wood and masonry repairs at $5,000 each.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will begin approximately in October 2025 for one year, with potential renewal for up to one additional 12-month period based on vendor performance and availability of funds.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Governor Stephen Hopkins House located at 15 Hopkins Street, Providence, RI.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must provide a bid surety bond or certified check as specified in the solicitation. They must comply with all licensing and state permits required for the services described. A copy of the vendor’s license/permit should be submitted with the bid proposal. Additionally, vendors are required to have a valid certificate of registration issued by the Rhode Island Contractors’ Registration Board throughout the term of the contract.
