Background
The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) of the State of Rhode Island is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to replace its current credentialing system. The DMV's mission is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of motor vehicles in the state. This contract aims to enhance their capabilities in managing credentialing processes effectively.
Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for providing a new credentialing system that meets the needs of the DMV. This includes software development, implementation, and ongoing support for the system. The vendor must ensure that the new system integrates seamlessly with existing DMV operations and complies with all relevant regulations. Specific requirements include:
- Development of a user-friendly interface for both staff and customers.
- Implementation of secure data management practices to protect sensitive information.
- Provision of training for DMV staff on the new system.
- Ongoing technical support and maintenance post-implementation.
Period of Performance
The initial contract period will commence approximately on July 1, 2026, and will last for four years, including the implementation phase. There is an option to renew the contract for up to four additional 12-month periods based on vendor performance and funding availability.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed at locations designated by the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles, primarily within the state of Rhode Island.
Bidder Requirements
Vendors must register in Ocean State Procures™ to submit proposals. They are required to comply with insurance requirements including:
- Liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $1 million per occurrence.
- Workers' compensation insurance as per state regulations.
- Professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $2 million per occurrence.
Additionally, vendors must demonstrate experience with similar projects and provide an ISBE participation plan as part of their proposal.
