DOIT - Dept of State Business Registry and Online Filing System Modernization

Background
The Department of State (DOS) of Rhode Island is seeking proposals to modernize its Business Services’ Registry and online filing system. This system currently manages various programs, including Business Entity Filings, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Trademark/Service Mark registrations, and Notaries Public programs.

The modernization effort aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these services, with an additional module for registering Tradenames.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Modernizing the existing Business Services’ Registry and online filing system.
2. Ensuring the system can manage Business Entity Filings, UCC filings, Trademark/Service Mark registrations, and Notaries Public programs effectively.
3. Developing a new module specifically for registering Tradenames.

The proposal must include a detailed plan outlining the approach to achieve these objectives.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will begin approximately by March 1st, 2025, covering implementation followed by maintenance and operations support for an initial term of 2 years. The contract may be renewed for up to 3 additional 12-month periods based on vendor performance and availability of funds.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Rhode Island, with specific locations to be determined based on project requirements.
