DEM Browning Mill Pond Dam Repair and Rehabilitation

Background
The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is seeking qualified firms to provide final design, permitting, and construction specifications for the repair and rehabilitation of the Browning Mill Pond Dam in Exeter, RI.
This project aims to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the dam, which is essential for local environmental management and community safety.

Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for:
1. Final design of the dam rehabilitation;
2. Preparation of all necessary permitting documents;
3. Development of construction specifications that meet state and federal regulations;
4. Coordination with state agencies throughout the project;
5. Ensuring compliance with environmental standards during construction.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will begin approximately on August 1, 2025, for twelve (12) months, with a possibility of renewal for an additional twelve (12) months based on vendor performance and availability of funds.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Browning Mill Pond Dam located in Exeter, Rhode Island.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must register in Ocean State Procures™ to submit proposals.
They are required to have all necessary licenses to perform work as specified by applicable laws.
Insurance requirements include:
a) Liability - $1,000,000 per occurrence;
b) Workers compensation - $100,000 each accident;
c) Automobile liability - $1,000,000 each occurrence;
d) Professional liability - $2,000,000 per occurrence;
e) Environmental/Pollution Liability - $1,000,000 per occurrence.
Vendors must also comply with affirmative action policies and demonstrate ISBE participation.
