2025-2026 Crack Sealing C-1

Background
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is issuing this solicitation for the 2025-2026 Crack Sealing C-1 project. The primary goal of this contract is to maintain and enhance the integrity of existing bituminous pavements by addressing cracks and open joints, thereby ensuring safe travel for the public. This work is essential for prolonging the lifespan of roadways and improving overall traffic safety.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for performing all operations and providing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for cleaning, sealing, and filling cracks and open joints across existing bituminous pavements. This includes:
1) sealing and filling individual linear cracks, block cracking, longitudinal and transverse open joints;
2) 'banding' or sealing perimeter cracks around areas with closely spaced 'alligator' cracking.
Additionally, the contractor must ensure maintenance and protection of traffic and public access during work on each roadway segment. All work must be completed to the satisfaction of the Department.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on April 25, 2025, and conclude on May 23, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will take place across various locations within Rhode Island as specified in the contract documents.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid bond payable to the State of Rhode Island in the amount of 5% of the total bid. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish a performance bond equal to 100% of the contract price. Additionally, contractors must meet a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of at least 10% of the contract bid price. Insurance requirements include liability coverage of $1 million per occurrence, workers compensation coverage, automobile liability insurance, among others.
