Valley Township - 2026 Road Program

Background
The 2026 Road Program is initiated by Valley Township, located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The program aims to enhance local road infrastructure through milling and resurfacing activities. The contract is designated as Contract No. R-2026, encompassing various road improvements to ensure safe and efficient transportation for residents.

Work Details
The project involves a Base Bid that includes approximately 20,236 square yards (SY) of milling and wearing course pavement, 100 SY of base repair, and 285 tons of leveling course along with appurtenant work.

Additionally, there are Add-Items that may be awarded, which include approximately 4,314 SY of milling and wearing course pavement, 60 SY of base repair, and 75 tons of leveling course. All work must comply with PennDOT specifications (Publication 408) and includes specific requirements such as traffic control devices, delivery tickets for materials, compliance with the Public Works Employment Verification Act, and liquidated damages for delays.

Period of Performance
The contractor is required to complete all work within 45 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is issued.

The work will be performed in various locations throughout Valley Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a certified check or bid bond amounting to at least ten percent (10%) of their bid. They must also comply with the Public Works Employment Verification Act by utilizing the federal E-Verify Program for employee verification.

Additionally, bidders are required to submit an affidavit accepting the provisions of the Workmen’s Compensation Act.
