Tree Services: Pruning, Removal, Stump Grinding And Emergency Care

Background
The City of Allentown is seeking to secure the services of a Contractor to perform tree services, including but not limited to pruning, removal, stump grinding, and emergency care. This solicitation is issued by the Bureau of Engineering and aims to enhance the management and maintenance of urban forestry within the city.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing tree services that include:

1. Pruning trees to promote healthy growth and maintain safety;
2. Removing trees that are dead, dying, or pose a risk to public safety;
3. Grinding stumps left after tree removal;
4. Providing emergency tree care in response to storm damage or other urgent situations.

The quantities mentioned in the solicitation are approximate and intended for bid evaluation purposes.

Period of Performance

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with local tax requirements and obtain a business tax license prior to contract execution. Additionally, bidders must submit a MBE/WBE Subcontractor and Supplier Solicitation and Commitment Form with their bid. The City encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) but does not have set-aside requirements.
