Description

It is the intent of the City of Philadelphia to purchase Trash Compactor Rental, Maintenance, and Pick-up Service in accordance with Section 2 of this Invitation and Bid. All quotes must be submitted through PHL Contracts no later than 10:30 AM on the date that the related bid opens. Quotes will not be accepted after the bid opening. It is the seller's responsibility to ensure that its quote is submitted in a timely manner.
Background
The City of Philadelphia, through its Procurement Department, is seeking to establish a contract for Trash Compactor Rental, Maintenance, and Pick-up Service. This initiative aims to support various departments within the city by providing essential waste management services that align with the city's commitment to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Work Details
The contractor will provide roll-off self-contained trash compactors, including installation, maintenance, and pick-up services. Specific requirements include:

- Compactor dimensions: overall height of 7'5" and length of 14'7½"; charge box capacity not exceeding 1.9 cu. yds.; total container capacity of 15 cu. yds.
- The compactor must meet ANSI Z245.1 safety standards and include features such as ozone odor control and a hydraulic pump with specified pressure ratings.
- Monthly service fees will cover rental and maintenance costs for the compactor.
- Pick-up services are estimated at one per week for locations such as the Juvenile Justice Services Center and Riverview Home, with provisions for additional pickups as needed.
- In case of malfunctioning equipment beyond four hours, a temporary replacement must be provided at no extra cost to the city.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and last for an initial term of twelve (12) months, with options to renew for up to four (4) additional one-year periods at the city's discretion.

- Juvenile Justice Services Center, 91 North 48th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139
