Background
The City of Pittsburgh Office of Management & Budget, on behalf of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for Traffic Control and Flagging Services.
The goal of this contract is to ensure effective traffic management and safety during various events throughout the city.
Work Details
The selected Contractor will provide traffic control and flagging services, which include:
- Developing and submitting site-specific Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) for approval;
- Providing certified flaggers to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic;
- Ensuring all flaggers are trained and equipped with necessary safety gear;
- Providing, installing, and maintaining traffic control devices such as signage and barriers;
- Offering 24/7 emergency response services for urgent situations;
- Adhering to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations including PennDOT standards;
- Maintaining daily logs of operations;
- Submitting regular reports detailing completed services;
- Assisting in vehicle slips at events.
The Bureau of Police estimates approximately 25 one-day events per year requiring between one and 30 traffic control personnel.
Period of Performance
The expected term length for the resulting Agreement is 3 years from when the contract is executed.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed in various locations throughout the City of Pittsburgh.
