Description

Temple University ( Temple ) is seeking qualified contractors to bid on work for the General Construction Package for the Temple University Condensate and Steam System Replacement/Renewal project ( Project ) to be constructed at Temple University's Health Sciences Center Campus, Philadelphia, PA. The project scope includes the replacement of existing underground steam, steam condensate, and pumped condensate piping including the following: Completion in 6 Phases (Phases 2 through 7) with one phase completed per fiscal year starting with Phase 2 in 2026 and Phase 3 in 2027. Bidders are asked to price out Phases 2 and 3 only. All work and sub-phasing shall be completed such that steam, steam condensate, and pumped condensate outages are minimized. Temporary bypasses and valving are to be provided as necessary. Excavation and repair of the existing steam piping system and jacketing. Excavation, demolition and replacement of the existing underground high-pressure steam, steam condensate and pumped condensate piping. Reconnect to existing system, backfill, compact and restore the site and surface. Demolition, repair and reconstruction of manholes to accommodate new pipe expansion considerations and waterproofing.This Project will be subject to a Delegation Agreement between Temple, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and the Governor's Office of the Budget. This Project will be a multi-prime project delivered pursuant to a multi-prime contract delivery structure. The Prime Contractors will include, at a minimum: General Construction, Mechanical-HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing and Fire Protection, and each other contractor engaged directly by Temple to perform construction or supply machinery, materials, equipment or labor for construction of the Project and which are identified by Temple as being a Prime Contractor for the Project. General Construction Scope The Scope of Work for the General Construction Package shall include all necessary services, work, labor, material, supervision, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, and applicable taxes necessary to complete the General Construction Package as shown in the Contract Documents for the above referenced Project. The Scope of Work for the General Construction Package is further specified in the Agreement, the Scope of Work (including all Schedules thereto), the Plans and Specifications, and other documents that will be uploaded to TUebid as part of the solicitation. Release of General Construction PackageThe General Construction Package is tentatively scheduled to be released for bid on or around August 21, 2025 with bids to be due on September 24, 2025.All bidding information is released and processed through TUebid, Temple's on-line solicitation management system.To be invited to participate in the bidding process through TUebid, interested parties must contact Naomi Greenberg, via e-mail at projects@temple.edu for written instructions. Insert the wording General Construction - Vendor Registration in the subject line.If you are already registered as a Temple vendor and in the TUebid system, you must indicate your interest in this Project by contacting Naomi Greenberg via e-mail at projects@temple.edu. Insert the wording General Construction - Pre-Registered Vendor in the subject line. Registration in TUebid System; Legal Existence of Offeror. No bid will be accepted from a bidder that is not registered in the TUebid system. In order to ensure proper registration in the TUebid system, an application to register must be made no later than 5 days prior to the date scheduled for receipt of bids in the Calendar of Events that will appear in TUebid. Under no circumstances will a bid be accepted from or on behalf of an entity, such as a partnership or joint venture, that is not in existence on the date the bid is submitted, or the existence of which is contingent on a future event, such as the award of a contract pursuant to this solicitation.

Work Details
