The Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA) is the owner and operator of Harrisburg International Airport (HIA), a commercial service airport certified for operations under Part 139 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. SARAA is seeking qualified firms to provide construction management and inspection services for the rehabilitation of Taxiway Alpha, which is essential for maintaining operational safety and efficiency at HIA.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for construction management and inspection services, ensuring contract compliance, facilitating project meetings, coordinating submittal and RFI reviews, reviewing contractor payment applications, conducting wage checks, providing daily oversight of construction operations, maintaining official project records, generating punch lists, conducting final inspections, coordinating as-builts, and completing project close-out.
The project involves multi-year phases that include:
- Survey and stakeout
- Adjusting surface gradient standards
- Rubblization of existing Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) and asphalt paving
- Mill/overlay of existing bituminous surfaces
- Adding 30-foot paved shoulders
- Updating geometry to eliminate Hot Spot 1
- Installing LED in-pavement lighting and signage
- Constructing a new primary electrical duct bank
- NPDES permitting
- Installation of thermoplastic pavement markings
- Upgrading integration with SMGCS control systems.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to span multiple phases over several years as funding allows. The first construction phase is currently out for bid.
