Background
The Ellwood City Area School District is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and emergency repair services for fire alarm systems across multiple district facilities. The goal of the contract is to ensure NFPA compliance and life safety system reliability.
Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for the 'FA-ESSENTIAL' service level (or equivalent) for the following systems and locations as detailed in the current Johnson Controls inventory:
1) 501 Crescent Ave (Ellwood City School District) - Siemens Main Panel, 75 Notification Appliances, 51 Pull Stations, 9 Smoke Detectors, 4 Heat Detectors, 4 Duct Sensors.
2) 410 4th St (Elementary) - Simplex Main Panel, 106 Notification Appliances, 25 Smoke Detectors, 8 Duct Sensors, 4 Exhaust Fans.
3) 619 Portersville Rd (Perry Lower Intermediate) - Simplex 4010 Main Panel, 70 Notification Appliances, 11 Pull Stations, 2 Smoke Detectors.
4) 501 Orchard Ave (Ellwood City Area SD) - Simplex Main Panel, 33 Notification Appliances, 37 Smoke Detectors, 10 Pull Stations.
Standard service requirements include annual/semi-annual functional testing of all initiating and notification devices, sensitivity testing of smoke detectors where required, replacement of batteries and peripheral components as needed, and documentation of all inspections provided to the District’s facilities department.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed based on current billing cycles from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed across multiple facilities within the Ellwood City Area School District.
Bidder Requirements
Interested vendors must provide documentation of experience with Siemens and Simplex fire alarm platforms; proof of NICET certification for lead technicians; at least three references from similar Pennsylvania K-12 school districts; and a guaranteed response window for emergency onsite service calls.
