RFP# 1 FY25/26 Website Design and Development Services

Background
Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) has been serving the educational and workforce development needs of Montgomery County for over 60 years. The college offers more than 100 associate degree and certificate programs and is committed to providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible educational opportunities.

This Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks to engage a design firm for Website Design and Development Services to refresh the existing website, which is crucial for effective communication of academic offerings and services.

Work Details
The selected firm will provide comprehensive website design and development services, including:
1. Refreshing the current navigational structure with a persona-based focus.
2. Streamlining top navigation options to enhance user experience.
3. Creating clear 'call to action' opportunities throughout the site, especially on the homepage.
4. Implementing a 'Start here if you don’t know where else to go' widget for user guidance.
5. Incorporating important dates and events into various content areas.
6. Enhancing content with additional stories from students, faculty, and alumni.
7. Optimizing mobile navigation for compliance and usability.
8. Integrating career and salary information using dynamic components linked to systems like Lightcast and PA CareerLink.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the proposal documents.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily be performed remotely; however, the firm must have staff available during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours for meetings.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must demonstrate prior experience in higher education website design and development, particularly projects that have improved conversion rates. They should also have knowledge of technologies such as GitHub, jQuery, Vue.js, LESS CSS, JSON integration, and Algolia API usage. Certification as a Small, Disadvantaged, or Diverse Business Enterprise will be considered in the evaluation process.
