Background
Upper Macungie Township is issuing a solicitation for the 2026 Bituminous Seal Coat with Slurry Seal project, which aims to enhance the road infrastructure within the township.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing a Type 2 Slurry Seal as per PennDOT Pub 408 Section 482, which must be installed within 72 hours of completing the Bituminous Seal Coat.
The work includes cleaning pavements, removing unsuitable materials, and ensuring proper disposal of debris.

- Wild Mint Lane (5,531 SY)
- Celandine Drive (1,850 SY)
- Barn Swallow Lane (4,906 SY)
- Barn Swallow Lane (1,000 SY).
Additionally, a one-year maintenance bond is required to cover any defects in workmanship or materials discovered during this period.
The contractor must also provide traffic control measures and notify residents prior to commencing work.

The contract performance period is expected to commence after the bid opening on June 1, 2026.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be PennDOT Prequalified per PennDOT Pub. 408 Section 102.
Each bid must include Bid Security of ten percent (10%) of the bid price in the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond issued by an approved surety.
Successful bidders are required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds equal to the contract price and meet all insurance requirements specified in the solicitation.
