Pump Station 4- Force Main and Pump Station Replacement

Background
The South Middleton Township Municipal Authority is undertaking the Pump Station No. 4 Upgrade project located in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
The project aims to replace the existing pumping station to enhance operational efficiency and reliability in wastewater management.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the complete replacement of the pumping station, which encompasses:
- Installation of two new pumps and control systems.
- Construction of a grinder pit and valve vault.
- Installation of a new flowmeter along with associated piping and valves.
- Electrical work as specified in the project documents.
- Replacement of the forcemain within the same trench as the new installation.
- Bypass pumping during construction to maintain service continuity.
- Demolition of existing equipment and infrastructure as necessary.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and is projected to be completed by November 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Pump Station No. 4, located on Meals Drive (private road) in Carlisle, PA 17015.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Pennsylvania's Underground Utility Line Protection Act (PA Act 287) for notification of utilities before excavation.
Additionally, contractors are required to maintain access to all driveways and mailboxes during construction, coordinate with utility owners for any conflicts, and ensure that all materials used conform to current standards.
