Description

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is requesting quotes to purchase a Wood-Mizer LT40HDWide 38HP Gas Portable Sawmill for milling lumber from large and small trees cut down at the Conrad Weiser Homestead and nearby sites.
Background
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, specifically the Bureau of Historic Sites & Museums, is seeking quotes for the purchase of a Wood-Mizer LT40HDWide 38HP Gas Portable Sawmill.
This sawmill will be utilized for milling lumber from both large and small trees that have been cut down at the Conrad Weiser Homestead and nearby locations.

The contract involves the provision of one Wood-Mizer LT40HDWide 38HP Gas Portable Sawmill with the following specifications:
- Power: 38HP (28.3kW) Kohler gas engine.
- Cutting Capacity: Max Width of Cut: 34 1/2"; Max Log Diameter: 41 1/4"; Max CANT Width: 26 1/2"; Production Rate: up to 550 bd ft/hr; Max Log Length: 21' (45' with extensions); Log Weight: 4,400 lbs.
- Blade Specifications: Length of 171", Roller Guides, Blade Lubrication System with a 5-gallon water tank, Hydraulic Tension System, Blade Thickness options of .045" and .055", and Blade Width of 1 1/4".
- Blade Wheel Diameter: 19" with Belted Blade Wheels.
- Head Features include Walk Along Electric Feed, SimpleSet Setworks, Power Feed for head movement, Electric head up/down control, Auto Clutch for blade engagement, and adjustable blade guide arm.
- Additional features include an installed Debarker and optional Board Return System.
- Bed Features include Hydraulic Side Support Kit, Hydraulic Leveling Rollers, Hydraulic Claw Turner for log turning, and Hydraulic Log Loading Arms.
- Trailer Package included is the Trailer Kit for LT40/70HD Super Elec.
- Machine Dimensions: Monorail bed construction, Cantilever frame construction, Mobile mobility with a trailer hitch size of 2", weighing approximately 3,900 lbs and measuring 26' 2" in length. A five-year chassis warranty is also included.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and delivery of the sawmill is expected to be completed by April 3, 2025.

Place of Performance
The sawmill will be delivered to Conrad Weiser Homestead located at 28 Weiser Ln., Womelsdorf, PA 19567.
