Hampden Township 2026 Street Resurfacing Project

Background
The 2026 Street Resurfacing Project is initiated by the Board of Commissioners of Hampden Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The project aims to enhance local infrastructure through extensive street resurfacing and associated repairs, aligning with the township's mission to maintain and improve public roadways for community safety and accessibility.

Work Details
The project encompasses approximately 12,000 square yards of street resurfacing and milling, along with 3,000 square yards of base repair. Specific tasks include:

1. Superpave Asphalt Mixture Wearing Course (4,000 sq yds at 1.5-inch depth; 7,500 sq yds at 2-inch depth)
2. Bituminous Tack Coat application (2,500 sq yds)
3. Milling of Bituminous Pavement surface (4,000 sq yds at 1.5-inch depth; 6,800 sq yds at 2-inch depth)
4. Base Replacement (320 sq yds at 3 inches; 2,700 sq yds at 5 inches)
5. Installation of Concrete Curb (40 ft) and Concrete Sidewalk (200 ft)
6. Removal & Replacement of sanitary sewer frame and cover (2 each)
7. Traffic Control measures as required during construction phases.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed by August 28, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in various locations throughout Hampden Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a certified check or bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount. Successful bidders are required to furnish a performance bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the bid price and comply with Pennsylvania prevailing wage laws due to the anticipated project cost exceeding $25,000.
