Factory Street Quarry Improvements - Phase 2 - 2025-03

Background
The Factory Street Quarry Improvements - Phase 2 project is initiated by the Borough of Mechanicsburg, located in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The project aims to enhance the existing Borough-Owned 'Quarry' property situated at the intersection of North Race Street and East Factory Street. The improvements are part of the Borough's efforts to maintain and upgrade public facilities for community use.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Demolition and removal of the existing site fence, curb foundation, and approximately 65 cubic yards (CY) of sediment.
2. Reconstruction of an existing riprap apron.
3. Installation of approximately 65 CY of riprap stabilization.
4. Placement of 3000 square feet (SF) of erosion control matting.
5. Installation of 875 linear feet (LF) of new galvanized wire chain link fencing.
6. Construction of a 15-foot by 15-foot observation deck.
7. Construction of a sediment forebay.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be completed within one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days from the start date. There is a minimum requirement to complete the observation deck and associated grading by the end of 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Borough-Owned 'Quarry' property located at the intersection of North Race Street and East Factory Street in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a certified check or bid bond amounting to no less than ten percent (10%) of their bid as bid security. They are required to have experience in similar projects, having completed at least three contracts equal to seventy-five percent (75%) of the proposed contract amount within the last five years.
