Engineering Design Services - Bridge #125

Background
The County of Montgomery, through its Department of Assets & Infrastructure, Division of Roads & Bridges, is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide engineering design services for the replacement of County Bridge No. 125 located on Swamp Pike over Hartenstein Creek in Limerick Township.

The existing bridge, constructed in 1931, is a single span reinforced concrete slab bridge measuring 26 feet in span and 38.7 feet in width. The goal of this contract is to ensure the successful completion of the bridge replacement project, including necessary engineering and environmental permitting.

Work Details
The selected engineering firm will be responsible for:
1. Project Management/Administration
2. Topographic Survey & Base Mapping
3. Environmental Studies
4. Environmental Permitting
5. Roadway Design with submissions at 30%, 60%, and 90% completion
6. Erosion Control Plans
7. Geotechnical Engineering
8. Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis
9. Structural Design with TS&L and Final Structure Plans required
10. Right-of-Way Property Plots due with the 60% submission
11. Traffic Control Plan
12. Signing and Pavement Marking Plan
13. Utility Coordination
14. Agency Coordination and Meetings
15. Plans, Specifications, and Estimate preparation
16. Construction Consultation during the construction phase.

Period of Performance
The contract duration for the engineering and environmental permitting phase is set for thirty-six (36) months from the date of Notice-to-Proceed, with construction consultation lasting throughout the construction phase.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Limerick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be PennDOT pre-qualified engineering firms with experience in designing municipal bridges (minimum five completed projects within the last five years). Additionally, bidders must submit a detailed cost proposal that includes a not-to-exceed price with a line-item breakdown for each task.
