Central Bucks School District 2026 Paving Restoration Project

Background
The Central Bucks School District (CBSD) is undertaking a paving restoration project at Mill Creek Elementary School. The goal of this contract is to assess and restore the pavement conditions in conjunction with planned construction activities, including the relocation of an emergency access lane. Gilmore & Associates, Inc. has been retained to perform a comprehensive pavement assessment to evaluate existing conditions and provide recommendations for repair and restoration.

Work Details
The project includes a base bid and associated work items such as:
- Milling and overlay of existing asphalt surfaces.
- Construction of ADA-compliant curb ramps.
- Improvements to sidewalks and curbs.
- Pavement line striping.
- Installation of signage.
- Adjustments to inlet C-tops within the school campus and adjacent roadways.

The total area evaluated consists of approximately 172,206 square feet divided into three sections:
1. **Parking Area/Driveway** (117,999 SF): Includes asphalt paved parking lots with drive lanes, bus parking, and visitor/faculty parking.
2. **Playground 1/Loading Area** (32,886 SF): Comprises a drive lane, loading dock areas, and playground space used for deliveries and parent drop-offs.
3. **Playground 2/Pathway** (21,321 SF): Features an emergency access lane and playground area with minimal traffic.

Specific maintenance recommendations include partial depth mill and overlay procedures for Sections 1 and 2. Section 3 requires full depth bituminous pavement replacement in certain areas due to observed distress.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to commence following the completion of the pavement assessment on January 22, 2026.
