Birmingham Hunt and The Knolls Storm Sewer Replacement

Birmingham Township, located in Chester County, Pennsylvania, is issuing a solicitation for the Birmingham Hunt & The Knolls Storm Sewer Replacement project. The goal of this contract is to replace storm sewer infrastructure to improve drainage and prevent flooding in the area. Work Details
The project involves the replacement of storm sewer pipe and infrastructure of various sizes and materials, including:
- 91 linear feet of 15-inch HDPE pipe in road or driveway
- 1,154 linear feet of 18-inch HDPE pipe in road or driveway
- 42 linear feet of 20-inch HDPE pipe in road or driveway
- 210 linear feet of 24-inch HDPE pipe in road or driveway
- 75 linear feet of 30-inch HDPE pipe in road or driveway
- 174 linear feet of 18-inch HDPE pipe in yard/grass
- 26 linear feet of 20-inch HDPE pipe in yard/grass
- 50 linear feet of 30-inch HDPE pipe in yard/grass
- Concrete curb repairs including 33 linear feet of upright concrete curb and 164 linear feet of rolled gutter concrete curb.
- Replacement of asphalt walking trail (62 square feet) and installation of R-4 rip rap (16 tons).
Additionally, storm sewer inlet repairs and replacements will be conducted as part of the project. All work must comply with prevailing wage rates as per Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry regulations.

The work must be substantially completed by August 21, 2026.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount. Only bonds from companies licensed to do business in Pennsylvania will be accepted. The successful bidder is required to furnish a performance bond and a separate labor and materials bond both equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bidders must also comply with all applicable laws regarding non-discrimination and sexual harassment.
