Aston Township and Lower Chichester Township 2026 Road Program

Background
Aston Township and Lower Chichester Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, are seeking sealed bids for the 2026 Road Program. The goal of this contract is to enhance road infrastructure through various construction activities. The project is subject to prevailing wage rates as per the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for milling, superpave wearing course installation, superpave base repair, leveling, pavement markings, and appurtenant work. Specific tasks include:

- 34,088 square yards of 1.5-inch milling of bituminous pavement surface;
- Installation of 1.5-inch, 9.5mm Superpave Wearing Course;
- 1,026 square yards of 5-inch, 25mm Superpave Base Repair;
- Various pavement markings including hot thermoplastic lines and legends.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon notice to proceed and must be completed within a specified timeframe as detailed in the proposal documents.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be pre-qualified with PENNDOT according to Section 102.01 of PENNDOT Publication 408. Performance and payment bonds or certified checks in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be provided by the successful bidder within 20 days after contract award.
