23WHM Deer Fence Install South

Background
The Pennsylvania Game Commission, Bureau of Wildlife Habitat Management, Forestry Division, is responsible for managing wildlife habitats in the state. The goal of this contract is to install woven wire deer exclosure fences to protect specific areas of State Game Lands from deer damage. This project is part of the FY 2025 Deer Deterrent Fence Installation Project aimed at enhancing wildlife habitat management in the Southwest and South Central Regions of Pennsylvania.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the installation of approximately 45,630 linear feet of woven wire deer exclosure fence across several blocks of State Game Lands located in Blair, Fayette, Huntingdon, and Somerset counties.

The installation must comply with the specifications outlined in Attachment I, which includes:
- Clearing a maintenance path for installation;
- Erecting a seven-foot high fence using galvanized or coated steel wire;
- Ensuring proper fastening and securing methods;
- Installing gates as specified;
- Conducting a deer drive prior to closing the fence;
- Adhering to erosion control measures.

The contractor must also manage hazard trees within proximity to the fence line and ensure all debris generated during installation is removed.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on June 30, 2026. Specific no-work days are designated during hunting seasons and other specified periods.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed on various blocks of State Game Lands located in Blair, Fayette, Huntingdon, and Somerset counties in Pennsylvania.
