Background
The PA Fish and Boat Commission is seeking a supplier to construct a research vessel to be used on Lake Erie. The competitive sealed proposals process is being used for awarding the contract. The contract will be a firm, fixed price contract and will contain the Contract Terms and Conditions attached to this RFP. The Issuing Office reserves the right to reject any proposal received as a result of this RFP.
Work Details
The work consists of constructing a 55' Great Lakes Fishery Research vessel intended to operate in Lake Erie and potentially other Great Lakes of the United States and Canada.
The vessel will be equipped with fishing gear for sampling stocks, capable of setting gill nets over the stern, retrieving gill nets over the side, and stern trawling. It will have its hull constructed of welded steel, and its upper deckhouse constructed of welded aluminum alloy. The Vessel shall have single screw propulsion, with one diesel engine driving a fixed-pitch propeller through a hydraulic reverse/reduction gear.
Period of Performance
The term of the contract will commence on the Effective Date and will end within five years.

The Vessel is intended to operate in Lake Erie and potentially other Great Lakes of the United States and Canada.
