Background
Doylestown Township, located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is issuing a contract for the 2025 Fall/Winter Tree Pruning and Takedown project. The goal of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and safety of trees along township rights-of-way, bike and hike paths, parks, and open lands. This initiative aligns with the township's commitment to preserving public spaces and enhancing community safety.

Work Details
The contractor will provide services including:
- Takedowns of designated trees marked with white dots or nearby trail markings, ensuring they are cut flush to ground level.
- Inspection of trees for dead, diseased, or broken limbs posing risks; limbs over two inches in diameter must be cut back according to ANSI A300 standards.
- Pruning lower branches to elevate tree canopies interfering with buildings or pathways.
- Controlled takedown of trees to minimize damage to surrounding vegetation and infrastructure.
- Disposal of small branches by chipping and removal of all debris from job sites.
- Stump grinding to a depth of 6-8 inches below grade, ensuring all major roots are included.
- All generated wood and debris become the contractor's property upon completion of work.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for completion within 60 days or by December 31, 2025, whichever comes first, following a written Notice to Proceed from the Township.

Place of Performance
Work will be performed within Doylestown Township's parks, open spaces, trails, and rights-of-way.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a certified check or bid bond for 10% of the total bid amount. They must also provide evidence of compliance with the Workmen’s Compensation Act and include nondiscrimination clauses in employment practices as per state regulations.
