RFP - Type 3 LRV Fleet Event Recorder Replacement

Background
TriMet, the agency responsible for public transportation in the Portland metropolitan area, is seeking proposals from qualified firms for the design, supply, and optional installation of a replacement Vehicle Event Recorder system for its existing Type 3 Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) fleet.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the operational capabilities and safety features of the LRV fleet through updated technology.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following:
- Design of a new Vehicle Event Recorder system tailored for Type 3 LRVs.
- Supply of all necessary components and equipment for the event recorder system.
- Optional installation services for the new system on the existing LRV fleet.
- Compliance with relevant engineering standards in electrical and mechanical fields as indicated by commodity codes:
- 02030 (Engineering - Electrical)
- 02055 (Engineering - Mechanical)
- 07020 (Communication Equipment - Rail)
- 07045 (Communication Equipment - Other)
- 10015 (Electrical Equipment)
- 10030 (Electronic Supplies and Service)
- 21010 (Rail Vehicle - Service)
- 21020 (Rail Vehicle - Parts).

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to continue until all deliverables are completed. Specific timelines will be determined based on project scope and contractor capabilities.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily take place at TriMet facilities located in the Portland metropolitan area, Oregon.
