RFP Number 4.4.25.1 - Summer School Supplemental Programming

Background
David Douglas School District No. 40, located in eastern Portland, Oregon, provides PreK-12 educational services to approximately 8,700 students across various schools and administrative buildings. The district is seeking proposals for afternoon summer programming to supplement its summer school program, targeting students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities during the summer months.

Work Details
The selected firm will develop and provide afternoon summer programming from July 7, 2025, to July 31, 2025, for Kindergarten-5th Grade and 6th-8th Grade students. Services will be provided Monday through Thursday:
- From 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for Kindergarten-5th Grade
- From 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. for 6th-8th Grade.

The program anticipates serving up to 131 elementary students at each elementary school and up to 127 middle school students at each middle school. Additionally, high school programming for grades 9-12 is expected to begin in the summer of 2026 with an estimated capacity of up to 640 students. Proposers are required to conduct in-person enrichment activities, assist with lunch supervision, prepare age-appropriate interactive activities (e.g., art, dance, games), maintain daily attendance records, submit programmatic reports timely before final payment, and ensure all staff pass a criminal background check.

Period of Performance
The contract period is set from July 7, 2025, through July 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within the David Douglas School District in Portland, Oregon.
