Background
The Reynolds School District 7 (RSD7) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to supply and install Category 6 cabling and single mode fiber cabling at Margaret Scott Elementary School. The goal of this contract is to enhance the school's telecommunications infrastructure in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as performance standards associated with the E-rate program.
Work Details
1. Supply and install 140 new green Category 6 cabling runs at Margaret Scott Elementary School, replacing existing Category 5 cabling. The installation must include:
- New plenum rated green Category 6 cable, a minimum of 24 AWG, installed to all specified network jack locations.
- Green RJ45 wall jacks compatible with existing Panduit wall plates, with new wall plates provided where necessary.
- Rack-mounted modular patch panels (Panduit modular 24-port or 48-port) for terminating new cables where existing panels are full.
- Green Cat6 patch cables (6”, 1’, or 5’ lengths) for connections between data ports and network switches.
- All equipment must be new; refurbished or used equipment is not acceptable.
2. Supply and install single mode fiber cabling:
- Extend existing 12-strand single mode fiber cabling to new MDF/IDF locations within the school building, requiring splicing into existing fiber terminations and installation of new fiber cable.
- Fiber specifications include: at least 12-strand OS1 fiber, two breakout panels per run compatible with existing BEJED FDUs, LC type connectors, and testing using OTDR equipment to ensure maximum loss of 1.0 dB/km on both 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths.
Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on July 1, 2026, and will extend through June 30, 2027. RSD7 reserves the right to extend the contract annually for up to four additional years.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Margaret Scott Elementary School located at 14700 NE Sacramento St, Portland, OR.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be eligible service providers capable of completing necessary communications and paperwork associated with the E-rate program using the SPI billing method. Additionally, bidders must have been in business for a minimum of three consecutive years providing similar services.
