Restoration of Central Library Front Gates

Background
The Multnomah County Department of County Assets / Facilities and Property Management is seeking proposals for the restoration of the Central Library Front Gates.

The Central Library, located at 801 SW 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97205, is listed on The National Register of Historic Places and requires specialized knowledge and skills for this restoration project. The Facilities and Property Management Division (FPM) is responsible for managing over three million square feet of various County-owned properties while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining operational efficiency.

Work Details
The project involves the restoration of the historic three-arched entrances on the SW 10th Avenue side of the Central Library building.

Specific tasks include:
- Repairing three (3) wood double doors
- Repairing three (3) iron gates
- Replacing lighting fixtures
- Restoring the adjacent Indiana limestone cladding and granite flooring.

The awarded contractor must have prior experience in similar restoration projects in occupied spaces.

Period of Performance
The estimated timeline for this project includes solicitation and contract award from April to June 2025.

An expected notice to proceed is set for June 2025, with substantial completion anticipated between September and October 2025.
