ITB 26-00-22 Reissue Fire Alarm Testing & Inspection

Background
The Medford School District is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB 26-00-22) for the Fire Alarm Testing & Inspection Project. The purpose of this contract is to establish a two-year agreement for the testing and inspection of fire alarm systems across various schools within the district. This initiative aims to ensure the safety and compliance of fire alarm systems in accordance with relevant codes and standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive testing and inspection services for fire alarm systems, including:

- Conducting annual tests on each automatic initiating device (heat, smoke, duct smoke, manual pull stations, beam/optical smoke detectors, elevator smoke detection devices) and one functional test on each notification appliance (horns, strobes).

- Testing must comply with NFPA 72 – National Fire Alarm Code.

- Submission of electronic reports to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and hard copies certifying completion of tests.

- Cleaning of all smoke detectors annually based on a provided device count.

- Coordination with district elevator maintenance for elevator smoke detection devices.

- All repairs must be authorized by the MSD Network Telecom Services department before proceeding.

Period of Performance
The contract will be executed for a period of two years starting from the date of contract execution.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within the Medford School District in Medford, Oregon.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid license from the Oregon Construction Contractors Board and have a Public Works Bond on file as this is a prevailing wage project. Bidders are required to submit all necessary documents as specified in the ITB, including a bid bond in its original form.
