ER Bear Creek Greenway Native Plant Resoratation

Background
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide restoration services along the Bear Creek Greenway in Jackson County, Oregon. The goal of this contract is to develop a restoration plan, procure and plant vegetation, establish plants, and conduct yearly maintenance and monitoring to restore the greenway path effectively.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following services:

1. Restoration Plan Development: Create a comprehensive plan that includes planting design, plant material schedule, notes, details, and site preparation.

2. Vegetation Procurement and Planting: Procure or grow native plant materials locally sourced and oversee the planting process.

3. Plant Establishment: Ensure that the plants are properly established through monitoring and maintenance.

4. Yearly Maintenance and Monitoring: Conduct annual assessments of plant health, irrigation system functionality, weed control, and replace plants as necessary during the establishment period.

Specific deliverables include:
- A draft restoration plan within three months of notice to proceed (NTP).
- Final restoration plan three weeks after receiving comments on the draft.
- Ongoing procurement of native trees (13,713) and shrubs (55,711).
- Installation of a temporary irrigation system.
- Annual monitoring reports detailing plant performance against established metrics.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to begin upon execution and will last for four years with an option for extension up to one additional year. The planting activities are expected to commence in the fall of 2024 or spring of 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed along the Bear Creek Greenway in Jackson County, Oregon.
