Background
The City of Portland, Oregon, is seeking to modernize seven elevators across five city-owned sites. This initiative aims to ensure that the elevators meet current codes, usability standards, and ADA accommodations.

The modernization project is part of the city's efforts to enhance public facilities and improve accessibility for all citizens.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the modernization of the following elevators:
- Three geared traction passenger elevators at the City 1900 Building located at 1900 SW Fourth Avenue, Portland, OR.
- One hydraulic passenger elevator at the City East Precinct Building located at 737 SE 106th Avenue, Portland, OR.
- One hydraulic passenger elevator at the City North Precinct Building located at 499 NE Emerson Street, Portland, OR.
- One hydraulic passenger elevator at the Portland Communication Center located at 3732 SE 99th Avenue, Portland, OR.
- One hydraulic passenger elevator at St. John’s Building located at 7214 N Philadelphia Avenue, Portland, OR (alternate bid).

Additionally, there is an option for an expedited schedule for the hydraulic passenger elevator at the Portland Communication Center (alternate bid). The contractor must provide bids for all projects listed and adhere to technical specifications outlined in various exhibits.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to last until all modernization work is completed. Specific timelines will be detailed in the contract documents.

The work will be performed at multiple locations in Portland, Oregon:
1. City 1900 Building - 1900 SW Fourth Avenue
2. City East Precinct - 737 SE 106th Avenue

5. St. John's Building - 7214 N Philadelphia Avenue

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of ten years of experience in elevator modernization and employ mechanics with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Bidders are required to submit a certified check or bid bond for no less than ten percent of their total bid amount as a guarantee.
