Lawn Mowing Services at Lawton Veterans Home

Background
The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA) is seeking to establish a contract for lawn mowing services at the Lawton Veterans Home, which serves as a long-term skilled nursing care facility for veterans. The goal of this contract is to maintain the grounds of the facility in a professional and safe manner.

Work Details
The contractor will provide lawn mowing services including:

1. Mowing and trimming of all grass and weeds in two designated sections:
- Section A: 850,000 square feet, encompassing all areas inside the fire loop including courtyards, fenced areas, flower beds, and islands. Mowing will occur weekly.
- Section B: 720,000 square feet, covering the pond area and surrounding pavilion. Mowing will occur twice per month.

2. Weed control through manual weed picking in landscape beds.

3. Removal of all trash, litter, and debris from the site before beginning work.

4. Use of safety equipment such as cones and signage to protect the public during operations.

5. All mowing equipment must have turf-type tires and mulching kits; side discharge mowers are prohibited.

6. Edging along curbs, driveways, and sidewalks with a blade edger to ensure clean edges.

7. Trimming around fences, buildings, trees, and other areas inaccessible to mowers.

Period of Performance
The contract term begins on August 1st, 2025, and ends on November 30th, 2025.

Lawton Veterans Home located at 501 SE Flowermound Rd, Lawton, OK 73501.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate four years of continuous experience in mowing and trimming services as the same organizational contractor. They must provide a complete list of equipment to be used during the contract period subject to inspection by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor (FMS). Bidders are also required to submit three verifiable references for similar services provided.
