Yoga Instructor at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare

PURPOSE The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide on-site Yoga Instruction at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare, located at 3000 Erie St. South, Massillon, Ohio 44646 . BACKGROUND Heartland Behavioral Healthcare is a 152-bed inpatient care facility for acute mentally ill adults. The service contractor shall provide Yoga Instruction for our patients which can greatly enhance their healing process.SCOPE OF WORK AND DELIVERABLESThe yoga Instructor is to conduct yoga classes with the patients at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. Yoga will be conducted up to 10 hours weekly on the grounds of Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. Yoga Instructor must be able to work with a diverse population with mental health diagnoses and behavioral issues. Through yoga, the instructor will provide patients with benefits such as stress reduction, sense of personal control, improved flexibility and muscle strength, and improved balance. Yoga Instructor will offer 45 min - 1 hour group sessions with a maximum of 10 hours per week. V. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF CONTRACTORContractor shall be certified through a nationally recognized yoga school. Must possess 2 or more years of Yoga Experience. Experience required working with patients who have a mental illness diagnosis.Contractor shall not be subject to an unresolved finding for recovery under Section 9.24 of Ohio Revised Code.
